Halloween is coming up once again and by now, most parents with small children are already cooking up fun ideas on how to throw a party. The party needs to be different from the past years to make it more exciting for your kids and their friends. With numerous kids party ideas for Halloween available today, it’s best to hold a not-so-common gathering that children will always remember.
Planning is very important. This is the stage where you do your research and decide on the theme as well as other details of your Halloween event.
The theme is very important as this is where you’ll focus your decorations, food, games and party favors. You can browse on the internet for some themes but if you have something unique in mind, don’t hesitate to use it. Online these days, what you will find are the most popular and common party ideas such as the scary monster, vampire and jack-o-lantern. They’ve been used over and over again so it would be a good idea to come up with your own.
Ghost/Treasure Hunt
A ghost hunt or treasure hunt would be an out of the ordinary theme. This would be fun to do especially if you have a spacious backyard and front yard. Or you can work together with some neighbors so you can cover a wider area for the games.
For this theme, you can bury several items outside your home that will serve as treasures or dress up dolls in ghost costumes and hide them as well. The child that collects the most items gets special treats.
Food and drinks
Pizza with toppings designed like a scary witch is a great idea. You can make one big pizza and then several small ones. Use olives for the eyes and catsup, tomato or pizza sauce to create blood in the mouth area. Be creative!
A quesadilla designed like a pumpkin would also be attractive. Use cheese spread to provide color and cut out the quesadilla to create the eyes and teeth.
Try making the spider deviled eggs as well. To make the spider, use the black olives. Cut the olive in half and further cut into small strips the other half. Use the half part to create the spider’s body on top of the boiled egg and the strips to make the legs. The result will be very attractive.
Another idea is to simply put the half portion of the olive right in the middle of the cut boiled egg, specifically in the yellow area. This food will look like an eye.
For your drinks, create an orange gelatin one. Mix gelatin, sugar and pineapple or orange juice and put in the freezer for some time. When you’re ready to serve, simply mash the gelatin and mix and put in a punch bowl. The kids will love this.
